A Recap of Champions League Finals since 2010

It is a fantastic achievement for teams who play in Uefa Champions League finals.
Regarded as Europe’s grand stage for club competition, the Uefa Champions League final is always a real spectacle to behold. It is usually the best versus the best and most of this encounters are usually breathtaking and never disappoint in terms of quality of football played. 2011: Barcelona 3 vs Manchester United 1

Mighty Barcelona overpower Alex Furguson men.
This was Pep Gurdiola’s famous tiki taka at its peak. Goals from David Villa, Lionel Messi and Pedro Rodriguez completely sunk the Red Devils.

2012: Chelsea 1 vs Bayern Munich1
Venue: Arianz Arena, Munich, Germany
Under dogs Chelsea conquer Europe.
It was a combination of luck and football gods all favouring the Blues.The unexpected happened and they were champions of Europe, against all odds.  At stoppage time goal by Didier Drogba cancelled out Thomas Muller’s strike, pushing the game in extra time. The Londoners triumphed in the shoot out. Thanks to Arjen Robben’s penalty slip in the dying minutes of extra time.

2013: Bayern Munich 2 vs Borussia Dortmund 1
Venue:Wembley Stadium, London, England
Bayern corrects their 2012 mistakes
After their shocking defeat by Chelsea in 2012, Bayern returned to the finals again, this time against Dortmund. Goals from Mario Mandz`ukic and Arjen Robben were enough to seal Bayern’s fifth European title and a treble.

2014 : Atletico Madrid 1 vs Real Madrid 4
Venue: Estad`io da Luz Lisbon, Portugal
Real Madrid lift La D`ecima
It was the first ever final between clubs from the same city. A much improved Atletico were on the brink of their first European glory but Sergio Ramos equalised in the last minute of the game. Atletico never recovered and Real Madrid were ruthless in extra time and lifted their tenth trophy in style.

2015: Barcelona 3 vs Juventus 1
Venue:Olympiastadion, Berlin, Germany
Europe’s best attacking trio at its best
Barcelona’s front three of Messi, Suarez and Neymar were true goal scoring machines that season. Goals from Ivan Rakitic, Suarez and Neymar effectively cemented this Barca side in the game’s greatest teams.

2016: Real Madrid 1 vs Atletico Madrid 1
Venue: San Siro, Milan ,Italy
The Beginning of Madrid supremacy in Europe. Captain Sergio Ramos again scored the opening goal for the Las Blancos. Their city rivals equalised in the second half and there were no more goals. Madrid went on to win the decider in the penalty shoot out.

2017: Juventus 1 vs Real Madrid 4
Venue: Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, Wales.

Real Madrid show their class. Madrid become the first team to ever defend the uefa champions league trophy in the competition’s long and illustrious history . Cristiano Ronaldo was phenomenal in attack, scoring two goals in this decider.

2018: Real Madrid 3 vs Liverpool 1
Venue:NSC Olympiyskcy Stadium, Kiev,Ukraine
Madrid complete their historic hat-trick of trophies.
Two costly mistakes by Liverpool goalkeeper, Loris Karius and a Gareth Bale stunning over- head kick were enough to hand Zinedine Zidane his third consecutive European trophy.

2019: Liverpool 2 vs Tottenham 0
Venue: Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid, Spain.
Liverpool’s long wait payed.
An early goal from the spot by Mohammed Salah and Divock Origi’s late goal gave the
Reds their sixth European title after a long wait.  This final revived the lost supremacy of  Englishteams in Europe.
