Chelsea’s unbeaten stalemate was finally broken by West Brom at Stamford Bridge. Christian Pulisic opened the account with a rebound from Johnstone.

Thiago Silva’s red card in the 29th minute marked the beginning of an unimaginable misfortune for the Blues.

45th double strike from Matheus Pereira made it 2-1 at the break.

Thomas Tuchel had a lot to reflect on at halftime. The Chelsea boss made a quick substitution as he dropped Pulisic for Mason Mount.

Callum Robinson and Mbaye Diagne found the net in 63rd and 68th minute piercing a dagger right at the heart of the Blues.

Four minutes later, Mount whose confidence was sky-high tapped in a shot from close range from Timo Werner’s low lying pass.

At this point, Chelsea was clutching on straws with such a huge deficit. Robinson did not stop the count. He found the bottom goal at the end of the rainbow to make it convincingly 5.

What an eventful match it was?

Haaland Boost

Haaland is a hotly contested property in the summer for his brilliance in Europe.

Chelsea is optimistic to get the Norway international to complete what they are deficient of.

However, the Blues are aware of its financial powerhouse competitors for the 20-year-old.

With Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona linked with the pursuit of the Dortmund gem, Chelsea is expected to pull up their socks.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer spent his time with Haaland at Molde in 2017 before moving to United. Therefore, he could also convince him to be at Old Trafford.

The west London club boasts a good relationship with Dortmund and Marina is at the driver’s seat in summer negotiations.

In 2018, Dortmund had a mutual agreement with Chelsea to loaning Mitchy Batshuayi for a season-long deal.

Subsequently, a year later the Bundesliga giants made it easy for Chelsea to acquire Christian Pulisic although competition arose from clubs in Europe.

This explains the origin of a good relationship between the two teams in recent years.

However, with Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola in the mix, the deal could have a slightly inappropriate twist on it.

Raiola brokered Romelu Lukaku’s £75 million move from Everton to Manchester United in 2017, breaking ties with Chelsea in the last minutes of the deal.

Marina’s business profile has stood out as an iron lady perfectly well in Europe. Moreover, her brokering experiences cannot just be written off.

Despite the complexities tied around Kai Havertz deal last summer, the Russian managed to snap the 21-year-old German from Leverkusen.

Marina is raiding for more talent come this summer. Moreover, the Blues are eyeing other stars like Niklas Sule, David Alaba, and Jose Gimenez.

With Man City seemingly gone with the title this season, the team is staring at losing yet another title.

Tuchel wants quality players with different characteristics to challenge for the title next season.

Do you think Chelsea needs Erling Haaland in Tuchel’s starting lineup for next season? We’d like to know your thoughts here below.
